  1. I agree, they are very annoying! So why are they still used so often? Surely no serious marketer wants to annoy their customers?

  3. I think that people in nature usually pay attention on things that suddenly pop up (eventhough they might not be interested in that ads). So they usually have a quick look at the ads before closing the pop up window. And hopefully the name of the company or product will automatically get into internet users' head.

  5. probably yes. I think it's the worst way to advertise. For me I would never want to use that product by that company. It gets people's attention but it also create bad perception toward its product too. And rarely people will click on pop-up-ads because it usually come with viruses, spams and trojan hourse.
