Risks and Internet Banking

I'm one of Internet banking customer. Hackers is my main issue that scared me. The risk associated with internet banking is a security risk where hackers can get into your bank account and take your money away. This is possible but the chance is really low. Banks invest in heavy security systems to secure their information. What happen if hackers get access to your account? If the hackers get access to your account and take your money away, the bank is liable and have to compensate you.

There are also several ways that you can take to prevent security risk.
  • Never give out your password
  • Never pay your bills by accessing your banking needs through anything that is not directly with your bank
  • Make sure that you have the latest windows security patches installed so your internet login is secure.
People can also steal your information offline so it is not only internet banking that is a security risk. This post might make you feel much more relief and hopefully it might change your perception toward Internet Banking.
