The 12 most annoying types of Facebookers Part 2

7. The Sympathy-Baiter: "Barbara is feeling sad today." "Man, am I glad that's over." Genuine bad news is one thing, but these manipulative posts are just pleas for attention

8. The Lurker. The Peeping Toms of Facebook: These voyeurs are too cautious, or maybe too lazy, to update their status or write on your wall. But once in a while, you'll be talking to them and they'll mention something you posted, so you know they're on your page, hiding in the shadows.

9. The Crank: These curmudgeons, like the trolls who spew hate in blog comments, never met something they couldn't complain about.

10. The Paparazz: Basically paparazzi. Take photos of you and post them on the internet without your authority and you haven't even seen them.

11. The Obscurist: "Dave thought he was immune, but no. No, he is not." So he was immune or not? You're not being mysterious but just nonsensical.

12. The Chronic Inviter: "Play Mafia Wars with me. Which 'Star Trek' character are you? Here are the 'Top 5 cars I have personally owned, What drink are you?" Pretty annoying?

So which  annoying types of Facebookers are you? Personally, I think I'm the Lurker. ^^

The 12 most annoying types of Facebookers Part 1

CNN have identified the 12 most annoying types of Facebookers. Let's see whether you are any of these types.

1. The Let-Me-Tell-You-Every-Detail-of-My-Day Bore: "I'm waking up." "I had Wheaties for breakfast." "I'm bored at work." "I'm stuck in traffic." You're kidding! How fascinating! Just because you have many Facebook friends doesn't mean we all want to know when you're waiting for the bus.

2. The Self-Promoter: It's OK to be the self promoter as we've probably all posted at least once about some achievement. But when almost EVERY update is a link to your blog, your poetry reading, your 10k results or your art show, you sound like a bragger or a self-centered careerist.

3. The Friend-Padder: The average Facebook user has 120 friends on the site and it might be reasonable to have 300 or 400. But 1,000 "friends?" Unless you're George Clooney or just won the lottery, no one has that many. That's just showing off.

4. The Town Crier: "Michael Jackson is dead!!!" You heard it from me first! Me, and the 213,000 other people who all saw it on TMZ. These Matt Drudge wannabes are the reason many of us learn of breaking news not from TV or news sites but from online social networks.

5. The TMIer (Too much information): "Brad is heading to Walgreens to buy something for these pesky hemorrhoids." Boundaries of privacy and decorum don't seem to exist for these too-much-information updaters, who unabashedly offer up details about their sex lives, marital troubles and bodily functions.

6. The Bad Grammarian: "So sad about Fara Fauset but Im so gladd its friday yippe" Punctuation rules are different in the digital world but you just sound like a moron.

Top 25 Branded Facebook Fan Page

I've found a very interesting blog on the internet last night. It's about the top 50 branded facebook fan page. The table shows many interesting information regarding the branded facebook fan page. This is the only top 25 branded facebook fan pages, you can view the full table at the following website, http://www.ignitesocialmedia.com/the-top-50-branded-facebook-fan-pages-now-ranked-by-value/.

The value of the page is calculated by looking at both post volume and the reaction to those posts. This may not produce the most accurate result but at least we can see a good picture of the customer's value toward certain brand. By looking at the table we can see that Youtube is the page that combine both high fan count and high value which mean they are doing the best job of converting those fans into action.

Risks and Internet Banking

I'm one of Internet banking customer. Hackers is my main issue that scared me. The risk associated with internet banking is a security risk where hackers can get into your bank account and take your money away. This is possible but the chance is really low. Banks invest in heavy security systems to secure their information. What happen if hackers get access to your account? If the hackers get access to your account and take your money away, the bank is liable and have to compensate you.

There are also several ways that you can take to prevent security risk.
  • Never give out your password
  • Never pay your bills by accessing your banking needs through anything that is not directly with your bank
  • Make sure that you have the latest windows security patches installed so your internet login is secure.
People can also steal your information offline so it is not only internet banking that is a security risk. This post might make you feel much more relief and hopefully it might change your perception toward Internet Banking.

Porsche for a mobile!?

I've accidently found this news on the internet at night. A 17 years old Steven Ortiz, from Glendora, California got so lucky from the online trade as he traded his old cell phone for Porsche. Ortriz traded his mobile online through craigslist. Craigslist is a free online classified advertisements with sections included jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, discussion forums etc.

Porsche was not the first and only thing he traded his old cell phone for, it built up from iPod, then a MacBook Pro laptop, electronics to dirt bikes, then cars and trucks, and an SUV. Ortiz would buy mobile phone off his friends and sell them online for 3 times the amount he paid. He also repaired electronics and sell them out. Ortriz traded his goods through bartering where people exchange something they don’t need in order to get something they do need.

May be it's time for you to reconsidering trading online and bartering. And you might be as lucky as Ortiz!!!
